Two weeks ago, we officially unveiled Ecosuite as an independent software business, with a mission to bring efficiency to DER deployment and operations by connecting people through collaborative tools. Today, I want to continue the conversation with an invitation to our technical colleagues: please join us in this effort.
We’d like to invite you to explore what we are building at ecosuite.io. As you explore, know that we are building upon essential industry wide open source foundations (check out solarnetwork.net an open-source DER network, or myorangebutton.com’s data taxonomy as examples) because we have a core commitment to interoperability and collaboration, a philosophy that permeates all of our work.
Test the limits, join the open source push, build integrations and plugins, or tell us how else we can accelerate this industry forward!
Ecosuite also provides a staging area for algorithms and AI to unlock further value from DER portfolios by empowering data scientists to unleash their skills on our industry’s valuable data sets. So far we have two irons in the fire and in use by small carefully selected groups. These two separate technologies are:
- SolarQuant, open-source tooling for ML experts to train and deploy algorithms to the grid edge.
- STEVIE, an AI-powered digital assistant with LLMs tuned to assist with specific roles.
Of course, cyber security is paramount to our ability to collaborate in the modern world. As we embrace these technological advancements, potential risks associated with cloud computing and AI applications are ever present. Different strategies to address these risks are well documented and evolving. Ecosuite engages with AI technology cautiously with this reality front-of-mind; it’s essential to leverage these amazing opportunities safely.
To encourage an exchange of ideas on these important industry topics and how Ecosuite’s work fits in, we’ve developed a white paper, The AI Accelerated Energy Transition.
We encourage feedback and invite you to join us in the ongoing conversation. There is much work to do as we evolve our industry leveraging open source computing, AI, and a standardized, normalized energy data methodology with data ownership and provenance baked in. These are exciting times as we unshackle ourselves from the constraints of the past to accelerate distributed energy for all.
Thanks for engaging here, your time and energy is valuable and very much appreciated.
Regards
Philip
